Zurich
A bad draw for Vera! she has to play Myskina in the first round; and she would likely play Likhovtseva in the 2nd round. The 3rd round brings either
Dementieva, Kuznetsova or Dechy.
I hope her luck improves for Philadelphia.

COME ON, BEPA!!

Wow! The draw´s even worse than that for Moscow!
Well, let´s hope that Vera can at least show a good performance against Myskina and we´ll see what happens.

This is bad news. Vera retired in the 2nd set at 0-3.
No details yet. I hope it's not her ankle again.
Her service games were long and hard-fought, except the 5th game in the 1st set she won at love.
2-6, 0-3.
Likhovtseva also retired in her match at 0-2 after splitting sets with Farina Elia.

According to a news story on Yahoo! sports, Vera had a right shoulder problem.
Likhovtseva retired with a left hamstring strain.
Get well soon, Ladies!

Andrew's mini-review
===========
ZURICH OPEN (Zurich, Switzerland; indoor hard; WTA Tier I)
===========
First round
-----------
- Vera Zvonarëva lt. ANASTASIA MYSKINA [7], 6-2 *3-0 retired (right-shoulder injury)
I just hope that this time it's not too serious. Bepa's had her fair share of health-problems this year, with the viral infection and the left-ankle
sprain that forced her to miss the US Open. I would be much more worried if it were her ankle again.
Photo (note the tape on Bepa's right shoulder):

Doubles
-------
Bepa and partner Elena Likhovtseva both withdrew on Tuesday after retiring from their singles-matches on Monday (Elena with a left-hamstring
strain).
